MDX Guitars Featured in New Freekbass DVD
MDX Guitars' "Freekbass" Custom Basses are being featured in the new Freekbass "Learn to Play Funk Bass" DVDs. Freekbass is one of the most popular funk bass players in the world. The protege of bass legend Bootsy Collins, Freekbass has been featured in several magazines and websites, including Bass Player magazine and Bass Frontiers. In addition to his solo work, Freekbass has collaborated with Bootsy, Buckethead, and is scheduled to start an international tour playing bass for Lenny Kravitz.
Freekbass and MDX Guitars owner Dwight Maddox have been working together for several years. The two have designed three custom-made "Freekbass" bass guitars. Each one-of-a-kind instrument, hand-crafted by Maddox, is clearly identified by their unique body shape - a full-size version of the Freekbass logo.
The MDX Freekbass models are heavily featured in Freekbass' new "Learn to Play Funk Bass" DVD series. Published by Rock House Method, the two-level DVD series teaches beginning and intermediate players funk bass technique. Level 1 covers the key elements of funk playing, including slap & pop, thump, pluck, groove and timing. Level 2 teaches more challenging techniques, like the Dorian thump mute groove, double thump, ghost note percussive and multiple position scales spanning the entire neck. "Learn to Play Funk Bass" is available at Guitar Center locations nationwide and on-line at www.rockhousemethod.com.
