THE PEN:: For over twenty years Dwight Maddox has been making exquisite handmade custom guitars. Each guitar starts out as a piece of raw cut wood, hand selected by Dwight. After he creates the one of a kind guitar, Dwight uses the scrap wood to hand craft ink pens. Usually, Dwight yields 200 pens from the scrap wood left over from the guitar. Each pen, made by hand, is one of a kind. Think about it. You're not only getting something to write with, you're getting a limited edition work of art that could have been the meat and potatoes of the guitar, but it just grew at the wrong time.
THE CERTIFICATE:: Each of the handcrafted ink pens has a certificate of authenticity, and has been signed individually by Dwight Maddox, and the artist for whom he made the guitar.
THE BOX: Laser engraved with artist engraving on the front, and complete specifications on the back.
THE CAUSE: The mission of The Better Life Foundation is to make a positive change in the lives of children in need of food, shelter and medical assistance, and to enhance the lives of children and young adults with special needs. The Better Life Foundation will work to raise money each year that will be distributed to organizations and hospitals that we believe will help us fulfill our mission so these children are offered a better life in which they can develop their potential, achieve their goals, and, become caring and responsible adults. Clay Cook (ZAC BROWN BAND)
Atlanta native Clay Cook has made his living through many avenues in the music industry over the past decade. An accomplished multi-instrumentalist, he has recorded and toured with John Mayer, Sugarland, The Marshall Tucker Band, & Shawn Mullins. Along with his own solo efforts, Cook has written songs for Mayer & The Marshall Tucker Band. Owner & operator of The Small Room Studio in Inman Park, he has produced & engineered records for local artists & the occasional national act. ***2009 finds Clay as a newly added member of the ZAC BROWN BAND. . Clay's Custom MDX Guitar is covered in RED SUEDE LEATHER and is named "Missy".
Guy Fieri (FOOD NETWORK star and host of GUY'S BIG BITE, DINER'S,DRIVE-IN'S AND DIVES and MINUTE TO WIN IT)
In 2006, Guy Fieri premiered his first show, Guy's Big Bite on Food Network. Today, this "Culinary Rock Star” hosts two additional top-rated shows on the network, Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives and Ultimate Recipe Showdown and on March 14th, 2010, he made his debut as a game show host on the new NBC primetime series, Minute To Win It. "PORKCHOP" Pigtail Food Flippers made from the scrap wood seemed more fitting with this project instead of INK PENS seeing that the guitar looks like a porkchop with a fork stuck in it. "PORKCHOP" can be seen on the set of GUY'S BIG BITE.
John Thomas Griffith Pens (Red Rockers, Cowboy Mouth)
John Thomas Griffith is an American Singer-songwriter from Texas. Best known as a guitarist and vocalist from the band Cowboy Mouth, in which he has been a member since 1990. John Thomas Griffith first established himself on the American music scene in the early 1980s as lead singer and guitarist for the Red Rockers, co-writing their 1983 MTV hit "China". JTG's Custom MDX guitar is covered in blue suede leather and has glow in the dark stars for position markers. Her name is "Blue Angel".
